Business strategy
Small and medium-sized companies are often so engaged with their day-to-day issues that they do not have time to take a critical step back to look at whether they have the right strategy to take their businesses forward in the long-term.  An objective, critical and experienced outside view is often what it takes to get a company on the right path again to achieve its goals. At Strempel & Partners we help our clients address, in a time-efficient manner, some of the critical issues for their businesses guiding them through some of the following questions:

  • What products or services hold the most promise for the future?
  • How can the company best start or develop promising products and services for the future (e.g. organically, partnership, acquisition)?
  • Which products or services need to be phased out and how?
  • Does the company have the right tools to measure performance and evaluate competing scenarios (e.g. through sophisticated financial modelling)?
  • What can be done to counter competition from low-cost producing countries (e.g. China, India, etc.)?
  • What can be done to bolster the company’s position outside of Italy?
  • Has the company taken full advantage of modern technology (e.g. in all aspects of its business; product, data, customers and marketing)?
  • Does the company spend too much time and money on certain aspects of its business (e.g. a comparably lower margin product/service, region or customer)?
  • Does the company effectively manage how time, effort and resources are allocated?
  • Does the company have the best organisational structure and management tools and practices to best achieve its goals?
  • Does the company have the best management available to it?
  • How can the company attract and retain the best employees?
  • Is the company properly addressing non-performing employees?
  • Does the company have an adequate capital structure?
  • Is it forgoing necessary changes because of a lack of funding?
  • What additional funding options are available to it?

While many companies may be able to address some of these issues themselves, it is often difficult, if not impossible, for them to examine these matters without being unduly influenced by habit or vested interests.  Strempel & Partners works with its clients to focus on the most pressing issues with the least possible disruption to ongoing operations.
